About Me

In order of pursuit, I am a artist/sculptor turned machinist, who then became an engineer.  I've always had a different way of looking at things which combines the logical, scientific viewpoint with the pursuit of wonder and creativity.  I think these things are more related than it initially appears and I plan on spending my time creating as often as I can to bring what's in my head to life.

The Meandrous Engineer exists because I once tried to pursue a side business as an artist and gave up.  This was shortly before going back to school for engineering.  After being a working engineer for about a decade, the creative voice would not die.  Since deciding to listen to that internal voice again, I've put my energy into the YouTube channel The Meandrous Engineer.

I've always had trouble deciding one thing to do with my life except the universal drive to be creative, thus the name Meandrous.  I am just going to put my thoughts on making and art out into the ether to see if people are interested.  I hope to gather a community of people to talk about making, philosophy, science, and entertainment that feeds the desire we have to make.  I feel it is a fundamental thing that more people should partake in and I hope to influence those who already make to make more and pursue better.  For those who haven't ever made something, I hope to give them a little nudge to get started on something they've been thinking about.  Making, for me is a lifelong pursuit and will be something I will enjoy until the end.
